Nearly 18 months ago, Sinclair embarked on developing a hand labeling 'system' with a slightly different approach in mind. Unlike most hand-labelers, Sinclair sought to engineer a unit that:
• is ergonomic and ultra-light weight
• can apply labels at up to 120 fpm
• has a gentle application that does not bruise the fruit
• features Sinclair unique food-safe micro-thin polyethylene labels
• only requires a simple 120v or 220v power source
In late April, Sinclair HLS units were deployed around the globe to begin global trials to test for durability, application and overall fit-for-purpose evaluation. A whole host of commodities are in process of being tested--- from bananas in Central America to papayas in Thailand to stonefruit in California. So far, the feedback has been very positive and packers are looking forward to having a Sinclair HLS or two to augment their existing hi-speed packing operations. Also it appears that Sinclair HLS is also perfect for traditionally hand-labeled exotics such as bananas, mangos and melons as well.
Sinclair HLS will be commercially available this fall. For more information, contact your Sinclair Sales Representative or click here |
